Solar power drying provides a very good way to dried out lumber inexpensively with minimal understanding of the drying process. With kiln dried lumber you’ll increase your market and add price. In this session you will see the basic principles of solar lumber drying out with a focus on design and procedure associated with the Virginia Tech Solar Kiln. Plans the kiln are going to be supplied. Presenter, Brian H. Bond is a co-employee Professor and Extension Specialist within the division of lasting Biomaterials at Virginia Tech.

Numerous sawing patterns are used to maximize the value of product produced from a hardwood log. Within program different sawing techniques will be talked about, including class sawing and quartersawing. This program will include sawing exercises not to just show the topics presented but enable the participants to utilize their newly learned knowledge.
